ALS Awareness

I was nominated by my cousin to participate in the “Ice Bucket Challenge”, something popularized by the Boston Police Department in order to raise awareness for ALS, and specifically for a twenty-nine year-old named Pete Frates. He grew up with my cousin’s husband, and after hearing his name mentioned several times over the past couple years, I was inspired to spend eight minutes watching and listening to his story.  If you’ve got eight minutes to spare (don’t we all?), I’d highly recommend watching the above video; it’s perspective-shifting, to say the least.

Also, I’d happily upload the video of myself dumping a big bowl of ice water on my head in my scuzzy bath tub, but the file is too large! RATS!
