The Meaning of Leaves

This was my first mural! It was designed and painted for the biannual Stacks Squares mural project. Every six months, ten artists are selected to pain 7’x7′ foot murals outside of the Stacks in Cabbagetown, Atlanta. The murals line Carroll Street. I chose to represent Atlanta’s forested nature in my mural; the leaves painted are from tree species that grow in abundance around the city: dogwood, white oak, water oak, peach, magnolia, tulip tree, red bud, river birch, and beech!
